With our SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat, we want to be the first to introduce the latest thinking in cruising yacht design.

The vessel is a fully unique concept that mixes features of the catamaran, a monohul vessel with a hull construction, and that of a radically new vision of propulsion, using 100% kite wind power, making this the first authentic kiteboat.

Large kites have the towing power and are used if the wind is coming from the right direction. The two engines are electrical with electricity collected from the kite, which is connected to a specially adjusted generator. In the electric mode, a smaller kite is used.

This is truly a genuine kiteboat concept and SeaBoater Yachts are fully focusing their activities in this kiteboating direction.

Additionally, if you read the \"More Specific Details\" section below, you will find out how much care went into this project, and about the real naval solutions required for people to cruise on the world’s oceans, with less focus on absolute conformism and super engine speeds. The reality today is that boat builders usually do not go to sea often enough to test their vessels, and, in the end, they don\'t put in the care required and the necessary details for the real needs of long-term living on board into their projects. If a builder lives aboard a boat for ocean cruising, he will become experienced with and knowledgeable about his product. But this never happens as the builders are usually only focused on the power of their engines and luxurious accommodations to impress potential buyers. Production is dominated by the convenience of ultra luxury and speed, a lot more than on real seaworthiness.

This high-quality and low-cost yacht concept is for people who want the long-term enjoyment of living onboard and appreciate the ability to live naturally with the sea.

It is interesting to note that we are proud that our kiteboats do not have diesel tanks at all, and that the engine power propulsion costs and carbon dioxide emissions both are ZERO.

1. Carbon Fiber Tape Reinforced Hull Areas
Carbon Fiber Tape is used to improve tensile, compressive strength and stiffness in one direction, while adding minimum thickness and weight. Reinforcing tape with fiber bundles held in place by an epoxy fill thread for easy handling and wet out. This is not a costly solution, but makes a great additional fiberglass reinforcement of the hull areas on all “connection” places and other required places. The whole hull of the SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat is reinforced in this way with Carbon Fiber Tape.

2. Reinforced Impact Areas
Reinforced Impact Areas are in three areas of the hull, where damage most usually comes from floating or underwater objects. These types of areas are heavily and additionally laminated, above and beyond regular laminates, using added layers of fiberglass and Carbon Fiber Tape for support, thereby reducing damage in case there is an impact.

3. Watertight Collision Bulkhead
The Watertight Collision Bulkhead is a vertical bulkhead extended up from the bottom of the hull. The Collision Bulkhead is a heavily bonded bulkhead with a watertight department that helps to contain seawater within it, in case of damage to the bow. Additionally, the Seboater 787 Kiteboat has a collision bulkhead with two fully watertight bulkheads.

4. Double Bottom with Watertight Bulkheads
Watertight Bulkheads and Integral Tanks share the yacht bottom, which is divided into a number of watertight compartments, to increase the watertight integrity of the yacht and to create \"the double bottom\" effect. This significantly helps to avoid the breakthrough of water due to damage in the ship’s hull. In addition, it helps in increasing the transverse strength of the ship which helps in reducing raking.

5. Full Double Hull Solution
A double hull is a yacht hull design and construction method where the bottom and sides of the yacht have two complete layers of watertight hull surface, and the SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat will use this safety construction solution. The space between the two hulls is used for high quality sound and temperature isolation.

6. Propeller Skegs
The rudders additional safety are realized through propeller skegs isolated from the hull by extra laminates that protect rudders in case of any collisions with floating objects or other underwater items. Additionally, propeller skegs are designed for bearing grounding loads on shore.

7. Rudders Additional Safety
Both rudders’ stuffing boxes are at the same time watertight in the Rudder Department. This helps prevent seawater from getting into the hull in case of damage to the rudder stuffing box. Moreover, these full carbon rudders are on shafts twice the size of Lloyd’s rule requirements. Additionally, we are using dual hydraulic systems, each one completely independent from the other.

8. Fully protected \"Kort nozzle\" propellers
The benefits of Kort Nozzles are well known for towing vessels like tugs and fishing boats. However, considerable improvements in the overall efficiency of the propeller at low speeds (below ten knots) are great solution for electric engines of low power like we use for the SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat. Bollard pull on a tug fitted with a Kort nozzle may be up to 30% higher in some situations than the bollard pull on a similar tug with a traditional open propeller. Additionally, the propeller shell protects the propeller from ropes in the sea and similar underwater potential dangers. Over-sized prop shafts additionally increase the safety of the whole propeller system.

9. Integral Additional Strength Tank System
The tanks, as opposed to simply being dropped into position, are heavily laminated inside the hull. The
baffles, lids, stringers, and carbon reinforcement lamination all together interact to form a rock solid structure to distribute sea loads over the large area. It has two main benefits: First, it is possible to have tremendous quantities of liquid carried low into the hull, exactly where it is needed to increase stability. Second, the integral tanks produce an additional safety element in collisions because of the double-bottom hull effect.

10. Dual Fresh Water System
The Dual Fresh Water System is two entirely independent fresh water source systems. Each system has its own water tank, filter, vent, and pickup. If any toxic contamination takes place, or any transport problem happens in one system, then a turn of the valves puts the second system on line promptly.

11. Plumbing
Many vessels are featured with plenty of hull holes. Every pump, sink or salt water user seems to have its own hole in the bottom of the boat hull. Every one of these holes can produce a leaking and in a worst case scenario sink the boat.

We are reducing below the waterline most of these holes in the hull, and those that really must be in place are protected with a water tight bulkhead (engine room and forepeak).

These holes are in the form of added standpipes, to reduce the chance of an accidental failing. Regarding the head exhausts and the forepeak salt water source, the standpipes end over the waterline. The other exhausts—bilge pumps, sump pumps and sinks—are over the waterline.


1. Kite sail generator room
The SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat uses kites and wind energy as its main propulsion power. Large kites can have the towing power equivalent to a 6,800 HP engine! When the boat cannot or does not wish to use kite towing power from the bigger kite, then it can apply to a smaller kite solution for producing electricity for the electric engine only. Here in the bow, below the deck, is the generator room with a generator connected to the kite.

2. Seaworthy Stability Characteristics
Great stability characteristics are created by the revolutionary hull design; the width of the hull like the catamaran is combined with controlled monohull stability, which results in creating a comfortable motion on the sea and a high ultimate stability for safety. Extreme weather survival capability and high ultimate stability of yacht is the final result of the SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat hull design.

3. Skegs ahead rudders
The skeg protects the prop and rudder from most underwater objects, but it really helps to balance the bow too. The big rudder and skeg operate to reduce prop \"walk\" in reverse too.
Commonly, when it is most necessary in heavy seas or for docking maneuvers, effective turning movements can be produced by a well-planned and built rudder/skeg combination.

4. Active Stabilizers
We are using 12-square-foot foils; these are almost three times bigger than standard conventional usage requirements. The leading qualification to use over-sized stabilizer actuators was to handle damaging weather in a turbulent and dangerous breaking sea. Calculations show that a two to three percent drag punishment happens, because of these oversized fins. However, when they start to operate, the drag punishment disappears and, in a way, they may be more effective compared to smaller fins in larger waves. Additionally, there are stabilizer actuators in watertight coffer dams.

5. Bow boat control panel
The bow boat control panel is a smart feature to help manage the boat in ports, unfamiliar waters, through the night or in any hard-to-maneuver conditions.

6. Yacht boarding platform
The SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat has one of the best yacht boarding platforms ever seen in yacht construction. At the same time, there exists side by side the best combination for safety and pleasure features. You can see here the main points of these features:

- A safe and easy way for recovery of a man overboard situation. It is also designed to be self-rescuing in that scenario.

- Enormous protection against seas and winter from the left and right sides.

- A flat and big stable platform from which to step directly into a dinghy safely and a ladder lay-up of the dinghy into a storage place with \"hand-hold\" distance.

- Comfort features include a “beach” on the ship for swimming, showering, or scuba diving, which are both safe and pleasant.


Extreme weather survival capability of the yacht, with pleasure and comfort at the same time, is one of the main targets of the SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat construction.

1. More living space
The SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat has more living space than monohulls and catamarans of the same type. To eat, sleep, and live far more comfortably than a catamaran looks impossible, but it is a true fact here, because the SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat does not have a hole in between the hulls, but the boat still has the width of a catamaran.

2. Dinghy storage and engine room
The launching and retrieval of dinghies are an easy and reliable task on the yacht with a boarding platform like the SeaBoater 787 Kiteboat. There are two dinghy storage and engine rooms, which are more efficient and best for safety features on top of it all.

3. Higher hull edges
The hull edges are 120 cm high. These higher hull edges make the boat a lot safer and practically eliminate man-over-board issues. Additionally, the yacht is more protected in high waves and rough weather conditions.

4. Large battery bank
The battery bank is the heart of the DC system. The size of the battery bank is the choice of the client. There exists space for a large battery bank, which can increase comfortable living conditions on the yacht.

5. Alternate energy needs (solar panels)
Alternate energy needs are available with a significant number of solar panels for use on the wide roof as a possibility. This is an optional solution.
